Given the availability of the new WatchGuard AP125 access point with the latest 802.11ac Wave 2 technology, WatchGuard has decided to announce the End-of-Life (EOL) of the AP120 access point. We have not yet announced EOS (End of Sale) for the AP120 access point since some customers will continue to purchase them after the AP125 is released.
WatchGuard® Technologies, a leader in advanced network security solutions, today issued its quarterly Internet Security Report for Q4 2018. It found that network attacks targeting a vulnerability in the Cisco Webex Chrome extension increased in popularity dramatically, rising to be the second-most common network attack after being almost nonexistent in early 2018. Phishing campaigns showed a dangerous increase in sophistication in Q4, with new attacks utilizing advanced methods such as threatening to release recordings of users visiting adult content online, customizing emails for specific targets and creating fake banking login web pages.
In line with WatchGuard’s commitment to maintain the highest security standards for our customer data, Threat Detection and Response (TDR) will upgrade the TLS certificates used by the Host Sensor and AD Helper. From 26 June 2019, versions of the Host Sensor and AD Helper lower than 5.6.3 will no longer communicate with TDR. To ensure that your Host Sensor and AD Helper continue to function as expected, please upgrade to version 5.6.3 or higher before 26 June 2019.
