End-of-Sale Announcement for AP420
WatchGuard Technologies is strongly committed to providing industry-leading products and services. As the market continues to evolve towards more complex levels of security, manufacturing vendors across the globe are facing challenges sourcing hardware and chips for aging technology. Previous-generation Wi-Fi chips, like the chips in WatchGuard Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) hardware, are increasingly difficult to source and are quickly becoming outdated.
Today, due to the global chip shortage, we announce the end-of-sale (EOS) for the AP420 in our access point hardware portfolio. The AP420 is part of our current hardware generation, but due to the specific challenges sourcing hardware that can provide appropriate performance and reliability, the EOS for this specific model is earlier than we planned.
Effective November 01, 2021 for the end of sale.
Below, Table 1 describes the end-of-sale and end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the AP420. Table 2 lists the product SKUs affected by this announcement. Due to the inability to source hardware, WatchGuard may expedite these milestones outside of the normal announcement process.
